Maintenance

An
inexpensive static website ( the vast majority of simple sites
under £600) require all changes, forever and a day,
to be made by the website supplier. This means that, although
apparently cheap in the beginning, there is an ongoing cost
which can soon outstrip the original set up charge! If you
want a static site we will advise you of the fixed charges
we make for maintence, depending on your stated requirements.
Alternatively,
if you want to take charge of updates yourself from a dedicated
PC of your own and are relatively IT literate ( or have a
member of staff who is), we can load some licensed software
onto that machine for a one-off fee of £100 and supply
a half-day training (£200 + travelling expenses).
The
ultimate solution for a site requiring many frequent updates/expansions
would be a "database-driven" website. This could
be maintained by anyone with only basic IT knowledge from
any machine anywhere in the world, including home, library,
internet cafe, hotel or third-party office. Although more
expensive aty the outset, because of the various update routines,
there are no ongoing charges. You can add/delet/amend all
day long, every day of the year - without incurring any extra
charges. It's so simple that initial familiarity training is
given over the phone with the live site.
